Atlanta Braves center fielder Ronald Acuna has done some incredible things since being called up to the majors last year.
The 21-year-old Venezuelan superstar is clearly one of the brightest stars in MLB already.
Yet here’s yet another stat that proves it beyond a shadow of doubt:
According to Elias Sports (via Buster Olney of ESPN), Acuna has started 62 games in the leadoff spot this season, along with 36 starts batting cleanup. He’s now the youngest man in MLB history since Ty Cobb (1906) to have at least 30 starts in each of those batting spots in one season.
It takes a rare combination of consistency, power and overall production to excel at both of those spots.
